Jordan Hotels Association (JHA) announced a training grant for approximately 100 youths in the areas of hotel management, food and drink service and booking officer, in order to initiate the following of the increasing needs of the hotel and tourism sectors for qualified labor as a result of the tourism sector's recovery after Corona.
The media spokesman for JHA, Mohammed Al-Qasim, said the aim of training programs is to encourage youths to introduce technical and vocational training in the hotel and tourism sectors in Jordan and create the training opportunity to be attached to operations.
Al-Qasim called for all parties from the public and private sectors and officials to support the association's efforts and intensify them to reduce the current unemployment rates, especially for the youth group.
According to the Department of Statistics, the unemployment rate in Jordan is 22.6% for the second quarter, down from 0.2% in the first quarter of this year.
Al-Qasim followed in his speech for "Alanbat," in which the association conveyed a positive message for youth through this initiative that there are job opportunities to join the tourism sector, especially career development, that they can get benefits from, and encouraged them to pursue technical and vocational training for this sector with career development and rewarding material of higher quality, such as languages.
He sent a message to the category of young people who do not have university degrees that they have the opportunity to enter the tourism sector in light of the unemployment currently suffered by young people, explaining that the program aims to train Jordanian citizenship and stressing that the association covers all the costs of the training program.
