His Majesty the King in NYC met with CEOs of major American and international companies, they stressed that they are looking forward to exploring investment opportunities in Jordan.

I wonder, do we really deserve the great effort that His Majesty the King is making to attract investments to Jordan? The question here is permissible because the Jordanians highly appreciate the effort that the King is making in this and other political and economic contexts, and they hope that these efforts will not be wasted.

How the effects can be wasted ?, it doesn't need astrology or analysis, the previous experiences have clearly shown that bureaucracy and legislation regulating investment in Jordan and the inability of officials to attract investment or follow up on what His Majesty the King is accomplishing in this context have prevented us from achieving progress in an important tributary of the Jordanian economy. In terms of financial returns and its ability to employ Jordanians and thus reduce unprecedented rates of unemployment and poverty.

There's no doubt that a huge number of us followed the investor problems such as operational costs, higher taxes, this would limit our ability to help major American and international companies truly explore investment opportunities.

Recently, the Investment Environment Law was approved to make it more attractive to Arab and foreign investors. However, this law did not achieve the optimal equation, and experts and specialists recorded many comments on it, wondering why we insist on some provisions that push capital owners to go to countries such as Egypt and Turkey to invest there.

Actually even the jordanean went to these countries, in fact, so many of their projects failed because they chose countries that do not represent a healthy model for investment, specifically in Egypt, which suffers from difficult economic conditions. But this is not an excuse for us to defend ourselves and pin on it the continuing failure to attract and attract investors.

May God help His Majesty the King, who travels the world to mobilize for Jordan, politically and economically, taking advantage of his international presence and influence. However, in Jordan, unfortunately, we have weak tools, led by the official who is afraid to make decisions and follows the policy of exiting with minimal losses.

We hope that His Majesty the King's meetings will benefit Jordan by changing the style of managing our files, and the mentality of the official, or even the employee, as we have always heard of employees whose behavior contributes to the flight of investors.

Experts confirm that the issue does not require a miracle to build on what His Majesty is making. It requires a law that motivates investors, a successful management mentality, and getting rid of deadly bureaucracy
