.An Israeli report revealed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has a tendency to further reduce the budget of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), and transfer it to Jordan , The Israeli Channel 10 said in a report that Netanyahu, during his last meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterich in their meeting in Munich weeks ago, expressed his disquiet at the role that played by UNRWA, Because it works to perpetuate the problem of refugees, he claimed, and explained that Netanyahu has a desire to deduct some of the budget of UNRWA, and transferred directly to the Jordanian authorities,Where there are on its territory three million Palestinian refugees, who receive their services from UNRWA, conveying Israeli officials as saying that Netanyahu formally presented this subject to the Secretary-General of the United Nations.The seriousness of what Netanyahu says is that Jordan has within its territory the largest number of Palestinian refugees receiving their aid and assistance from UNRWA, although it is the Jordanian government that is supposed to provide for their needs and life requirements as they become Jordanian citizens, It was suggested that UNHCR should replace UNRWA in the tasks of assisting Palestinian refugees, including the transfer of funds to UNRWA, as well as the extension of its mandate and functions to administer the functions of Palestinian refugees.Israeli media attended the meeting with Guterich quoted the latter as saying to Netanyahu that the organization he headed in the past, not only to provide assistance to refugees only, but to work to return to their places of residence, so would  you want from  Israel to implement this mandate and return Palestinian refugees to where they were born decades ago?A senior Israeli official told the channel that two months ago, Netanyahu formed a team from several government ministries headed by national security adviser Meir Ben Shabat, whose main task was to design a clear policy toward the future of UNRWA, and presented to the administration of US President Donald Trump to reach a common policy in this regard .
