Ma'an's environmental conservation team succeeded in the first level of the Gigatonne Challenge, after saving 435 kg of food waste from hotel and restaurant, with the aim of saving 1 ton of carbon dioxide emissions.
Ma'an team began to conserve (4000 kg) of food waste in the second level of the Gigatonne Challenge.
The Ma'an team started inviting the participants from restaurants, hotels and homes to save food leftovers and waste and communicate with the team.
Among the challenges facing the team is the process of transporting waste from hotels in the city of (Petra), which results in large quantities of food waste, and we cannot rely on restaurant waste only in the city of Ma'an, because it is scarce due to the lack of food delivery inside the restaurant and the dependence on delivery only.
The enthusiasm of the Ma'an team for the preservation of the environment is the goal of continuing to work and succeed in various levels of challenge.
