AlShraida announces running a number of direct airlines

Head of the Aqaba special economic zone authority Naser AlShraida announced the start of the British company “Easy Jet” as of October 2018, and running a number of direct airlines to Aqaba city, the first is Berlin/Aqaba directly, in addition to London/Aqaba during November 2018, expecting that these airlines will contribute in activating the political movement to Aqaba, the Golden Triangle area, and then to the rest of tourist areas in the Kingdom. AlShraida assured that running these lines came after combined efforts between the Aqaba special economic zone authority and Jordan tourism board with “Easy Jet” company, given that Easy Jet works within the low-cost flying system that provides the basic services for passengers. AlShraida included that these lines will contribute in increasing the number of tourists to Aqaba which will contribute in activating the commercial traffic which will impact positively on different economic sectors and make the investors movement easier from and to Aqaba. AlShraida thanked the Council of Ministers on his continuous support for the special zone system through the resolutions supporting flights regular attraction and casual. The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Lina Anab expressed the importance of starting to run these lines to Aqaba which will contribute to the growth of the tourism sector in the Kingdom and in the Golden Triangle in particular consisting of Aqaba, Petra, and Wadi Ram in addition to the surrounding areas. As it called upon all operators to seriously think about running flights to King Hussein international airport, confirming the support of the Ministry and Government in enhancing the role of the Kingdom airports in attraction and increasing numbers of arrival visitors to the Kingdom. It is indicated as the special zone authority will soon announce setting up Aqaba airlines company that is owned by the Authority, and organized trips will fly to a number of Arab and foreign destinations which would enhance the tourist traffic, and the flow of travelers from and to Aqaba.
