King receives Omani Foreign Minister

Al-Anbat - His Majesty King Abdullah II received Omani Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Bin Alawi Bin Abdullah, on Tuesday who handed him a message from Sultan Qaboos Bin Said.

During the meeting, the King expressed his pride in the brotherly and historic relations between Jordan and Oman, and his keen interest to boost ties "in a way that best serves both countries and the Arab and Islamic nations".

The King and the Omani minister stressed the importance of coordination and consultations on various issues of interest to the two countries.

The meeting also tackled the need to restart Palestinian-Israeli peace talks to resolve the conflict on the basis of the two-state solution, and the Arab Peace Initiative, which guarantees the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on pre-June, 1967, lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

His Majesty and the Omani minister discussed the crises in the region and the importance of stepping up efforts to reach a political solution to achieve security and stability to the peoples of the region.

The King expressed his greetings to Sultan Qaboos, and his wishes to Oman for further progress and prosperity.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Advisor to His Majesty, the Director of His Majesty's Office, and the Omani ambassador to the Kingdom.
