Naitel obtains approval to launch Internet Exchange IX Hub in Jordan
الأنباط - Al Nayi for Informational and Communicational Consulting Co. "Naitel" has announced obtaining the approval from the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission to kick off the first of its kind Internet Exchange ("IX") Hub in Jordan in the coastal city of Aqaba.

The company, which has established its headquarters in Aqaba as a base for its operations throughout the Kingdom, aims to expand its investments throughout the telecommunications industry with a focus on setting a world-renowned infrastructure and surrounding eco-system. It will contribute in transforming Jordan as a whole and Aqaba in particular into a digital regional Internet Exchange Hub.

According to Naitel representatives, this approval will directly contribute to the development of the information technology infrastructure in Jordan while aiming to internationally promote Jordan and the coastal city of Aqaba to perform as an attractive destination for advanced technology investments.

This step will also set the Kingdom under the spotlight for all international hi-tech companies looking for the best investment opportunities in the region to consider Jordan as a main provider.

Praising the continuous cooperation and support shown by the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission with its keenness to encourage pioneering projects in the information and communications technology sector; "We are very pleased to announce this significant step," said Mr. Eyad Abu Khorma, CEO of Naitel "Gaining the approval of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission to establish the first of its kind Neutral Global Internet Exchange Hub in Jordan will enhance the performance of networks traffic exchange, speed up internet access and improve internet services in Jordan and the region."

Mr. Khorma added that Aqaba has become a tech hub, as a result of its strategic location, sound government incentives and overall investment-friendly environment, which reflects the far-sighted vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein to put Jordan at the forefront of other regional players in the fields of information technology, telecommunications, e-commerce, and transforming it towards an advanced information society."

It is noteworthy to mention that Al Nayi for Informational and Communicational Consulting owns a state-of-the-art, internationally compliant Data Center in the coastal city of Aqaba, and is considered one of the largest and most secure data storage service providers in the region. It was set to be one of the first fiber internet service provider in Aqaba with solutions and packages suitable for both individual and business use.
