AMMAN - Jordan is expected to experience a prolonged period of cold to very cold weather, prompting warnings of potential frost formation in several areas, according to the latest forecasts. The Jordan Meteorological Department has cautioned residents to prepare for the chilly conditions anticipated to persist in the coming days.

The weather on Saturday is predicted to be cold in most parts of the country, with slightly milder temperatures expected in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba regions. Cloud cover is anticipated at varying altitudes in the northern and central regions of the Kingdom. A moderate north-easterly wind is expected to prevail.

As night falls, temperatures are expected to plummet, leading to very cold conditions in most areas and cold weather in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba. The Meteorological Department is specifically warning of frost formation during the late-night hours, particularly over the high mountain peaks, the Badia region, and parts of the plains. Winds will be light and northwesterly.

The department is advising the public to be aware of the risk of frost formation during the early morning and late evening hours.

On Sunday, a slight increase in temperatures is expected. However, cold weather will persist in most areas, with slightly milder conditions in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba.
