Jordan is experiencing a cold spell, with frost expected in the highlands and other areas, according to forecasters.
Temperatures have dropped significantly, leading to frost formation, particularly in high mountainous areas, the Badia region, and parts of the plains, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.
While a slight increase in temperatures is expected, the overall cold conditions are expected to persist. The maximum temperature in Amman is expected to reach around 11 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 3 degrees Celsius.
The department is urging citizens to use heating devices safely and cautioned about the risk of frost formation, especially in high mountainous areas.
Looking ahead, long-range forecasts suggest a possible weather system may affect the Kingdom later in the week, but numerical models are still being updated.
The weather today is expected to be cold in most areas, and relatively cold in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with some clouds at different altitudes in the north and central regions of the Kingdom. Winds will be northeasterly, moderate in speed.
Maximum temperatures in Amman are expected to reach around 9 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of about 2 degrees Celsius. In the northern highlands, the maximum will be around 5 degrees, and the minimum will be -1 degree Celsius. The Badia and plains regions will record around 2 degrees Celsius, with a greater decrease during the night hours.
No significant weather systems or rainfall are expected in the coming days.
