Jordanian Army Foils Drug Smuggling Attempts via Balloons

Jordan's Eastern Military Zone thwarted five attempts to smuggle a large quantity of narcotics using electronically guided balloons early Saturday, according to a statement.

Border Guard units detected and engaged the balloons, successfully dropping their cargo within Jordanian territory. The operation was conducted in coordination with security agencies and the anti-narcotics department.

The seized narcotics have been transferred to the relevant authorities for further investigation and legal action, the statement concluded.
