Brazilian, Mexican Embassies in Amman organize Latin-American film screening

Al-Anbat -  (Petra) - The embassies of Brazil and Mexico in Jordan, in partnership with the Royal Film Commission-Jordan(RFC), will organize a film screening at Al-Hussein Cultural Center on Monday, October 15th and Tuesday, October 16th, 2018 at 7:00 p.m, the two embassies announced on Thursday .

A joint statement by the two embassies described that films saying that "The Mexican film, El Jeremias, recently screened in the 14th Zurich Film Festival, directed by the young Mexican director Anwar Al Safa, is a heartwarming comedy film about a genius boy and the hard choices that come with opportunity, while the Brazilian film, "The Last Stop", is set in Lebanon and Brazil in 1950, where Tarik and his younger brother, left Lebanon in search for a better life. 


The Mexican and Brazilian cinemas have a strong worldwide presence, competing in the most prestigious international film festivals. The screening of these contemporary films highlights the phases of development in both countries film industry allowing the audience to be exposed to the characteristics of Latin-American cinema and its artistic trends, the statement said. 

The event aims to introduce the public to the world of Latin-American cinema, and the creative and vibrant Mexican and Brazilian cultures, as well as to strengthen the cultural relations between Jordan, Mexico and Brazil.
