AMMAN - Jordan's Civil Defense Directorate has called on the public to refrain from sharing rumors and unverified information, particularly during emergency alerts, emphasizing the importance of remaining calm and informed through official channels.
Colonel Firas Abu al-Sundos, Director of Operations and Training at the Civil Defense, stressed the need for citizens to stay indoors or seek immediate shelter upon hearing warning sirens. He clarified the meaning of the sirens, stating that three intermittent blasts indicate an imminent threat, while a single continuous blast signals the all-clear.
Abu al-Sundos advised that individuals should remain where they are upon hearing the three warning sirens and avoid unnecessary movement. Those who are outside should seek refuge in the nearest building until the threat has passed.
Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of staying away from windows and exposed areas, advising people to seek shelter near concrete stairwells if available, as these provide better protection.
The Civil Defense is actively working to ensure the safety and well-being of citizens and urges everyone to cooperate fully with safety guidelines during emergency situations.
