The Military Police of Russian Armed Forces in Syria extended their zone of operation in the northern regions of Syria, Russia Today (RT) network today .
The agency added that a Russian police patrol entered the Kurdish-majority town of Avsharia, to the north of Manbaj late Wednesday, where militants of the so called "opposition fractions" are operating just one kilometer away from the patrol areas.
"Recently the Syrian government forces have put an out post and are following deliveries of humanitarian cargoes, while the Russian police patrols are stationed to remain on high alert," the agency said.
In January, the Russian Military Police were deployed in the northern parts of Syria to prevent any type of provocations from any side, after Washington's decision to withdraw its troops from Syria and Ankara's preparations for a military operation in the Kurdish-controlled areas.
