Washington is not preparing to deploy American troops to Iran, according to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, with the current focus on targeting Iranian ballistic missiles and naval capabilities.

Rubio stated that Washington would implement a special energy program to mitigate the repercussions of any military operation.

He also asserted that the United States does not intentionally target schools and has no interest in striking civilian facilities, adding that the Department of Defense would investigate claims related to the targeting of a school in Iran.

According to Rubio, the most forceful strikes inside Iran are yet to occur, noting that the United States launched a preemptive attack after learning of Israeli plans.

Regarding constitutional procedures, Rubio clarified that no law obligates the administration to inform Congress of a decision to engage in war. However, he noted that Congress could vote if it wished to do so.
