Al-Hawari: We hope to have a quiet summer and mitigating measures in the coming days.

Minister of Health, Dr. Firas Al-Hawari, revealed several advanced investments in the field of health that the Ministry is currently working on, most notably the opening of the emergency building and outpatient clinics in Tafila Hospital, noting that there are a number of new and advanced ideas that will be implemented soon, including a hospital in Madaba governorate.

He said in exclusive statements to "Al-Anbat" that the last phase of the construction of  Ajloun Governorate Hospital has been completed, indicating that it will be opened at the beginning of next July.

Regarding the patient's file and the automation of all medical consumables, Al-Hawari said that the discussion is still in its infancy, stressing that many workshops await us, in which the focus will be on this file in particular.

Al-Hawari justified the issue of the enormous pressure on public sector hospitals by saying: Government hospitals serve everyone residing on Jordanian lands, not just Jordanians, pointing to the increase in the population in the last ten years, especially after the influx of huge numbers of refugees from neighboring countries, whose percentage is of the total population in the Kingdom, about 30%.

He added, that public sector hospitals were able to provide them with health services, knowing that tremendous pressure was placed on the infrastructure of the public sector, which directly affected the treatment effort and many tools that serve the government health sector.

He continued about the royal workshops, that what we see today in cooperation between the public and private sectors will work to absorb these pressures and give Jordan an opportunity to grow and raise the health sector to be able to deal with all these large population numbers.

Al-Hawari praised the role that the private sector plays in the royal workshops in the health sector, explaining that all the trends, challenges and new ideas being discussed are on the dialogue table in cooperation with the private sector, which will have a major role in formulating and setting decisions related to the sector.

And about the Covid-19 file, Al-Hawari stressed that it will be possible to announce mitigating measures in the coming days, especially that we are now going through a much better stage than we went through in previous months, in terms of the number of patients whose have decreased in hospitals, expecting that we will pass now in a period of calm, pointing out that this virus is constantly confronting us with variables, and that there are continuous reviews of "Sanad" application wearing masks and physical distancing between citizens, hoping that we will spend a quiet summer this year.
