Report: Suspected U.S.-Israeli Strikes Hit Western, Central Iran

Strikes, purportedly carried out by the U.S. and Israel, targeted locations in western and central Iran, according to reports.

The alleged attacks come amid heightened tensions in the region.

At least 27 individuals were killed in northwestern Iran over the past two days due to suspected U.S.-Israeli strikes, stated Majid Farshi, Director-General of Crisis Management in East Azerbaijan province.

Ismail Dehghani, the Deputy Governor of Yazd, reported that six sites in the cities of Ardakan and Yazd, as well as an area on the road between Mehriz and Yazd, were targeted early Monday, according to the state news agency IRNA.

Residential buildings in western Iran were also reportedly struck by missile fire. The alleged strike occurred on the third day of what media outlets are describing as a U.S.-Israeli offensive against Tehran, which has responded by shelling cities in Gulf countries.

The Fars news agency reported that the city of Sanandaj was hit by missile fire, resulting in the destruction of several residential buildings near a police station and the deaths of at least two civilians. Tasnim news agency also confirmed the shelling but did not mention any casualties.
