Prince Faisal Attends Hashemite Scientific Council Meeting

AMMAN - Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein, representing King Abdullah II, attended the 121st Hashemite Scientific Council meeting Friday, focusing on the Prophetic Sunnah as a key source of Islamic guidance.

The council convened at the Islamic Cultural Center affiliated with the Mosque of the Martyr King Abdullah I, where Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Mohammad al-Khalaileh and Younis al-Sabari, head of the local scientific council in the Quneitra region of Morocco, addressed attendees.

Al-Khalaileh emphasized the authority of the Prophetic Sunnah and the responsibility of religious scholars and institutions to accurately explain it to the public, considering the objectives of Islamic law while integrating both the text and rational understanding. He stressed the importance of preserving religious principles while adapting to contemporary changes.

Al-Sabari described the Prophetic Sunnah as a robust framework for religion, advocating for increased scholarly attention and praising Jordan's efforts, under its Hashemite leadership, to revitalize scientific councils and promote the Sunnah in public life.

The Ministry of Awqaf organizes the Hashemite Councils annually during Ramadan, under royal patronage, to clarify religious rulings, promote moderate thought, and discuss contemporary issues. Scholars, preachers, and thinkers from Jordan and other Islamic countries participate.

The meeting was attended by Royal Hashemite Court Chief Yousef Hassan Al-Issawi, Chief Justice Abdul Hafez Rabtah, Imam of the Hashemite Court Ahmed al-Khalaileh, and various officials, muftis, judges, imams, preachers, and female preachers.
