The Ministry of Labor deported 157 violating expatriate workers during the first quarter of the current year 2023.
Based on Clause (h) of Article (12) of the Labor Law, the Minister issues a decision to deport the violating worker outside the Kingdom at the expense of the employer or the director of the establishment, and this is implemented The decision is issued by the competent authorities, and it is not allowed to re-recruit or use the expatriate worker who was deported before the lapse of at least 3 years from the date of implementation of the deportation decision. In its quarterly report on the work of the work inspection teams, and occupational safety and health, the ministry indicated that 26 expatriate workers had paid the fine imposed on them to cancel their deportation outside the Kingdom's territory, which amounted to 3 thousand dinars.
Earlier this month, the Council of Ministers decided to approve the necessary measures to facilitate the transfer of non-Jordanian workers between various economic sectors and activities.
This is in order to regulate the labor market and limit workers who work in violation.
The Council of Ministers set the period for implementing these procedures at three months, provided that the situation is re-evaluated after the end of this period.
The transition period from one sector to another begins on the second of next month and ends in August 2023
