The 17th “Ayla Red Sea Half-Marathon” to Kick Off in December

 

Within the program to support the annual calendar of events in partnership with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, the "Ayla Oasis Development Company" and the "Jordanian Marathon Association" signed an agreement to run the 17th edition of the "Ayla Red Sea Half-Marathon, which is set to take place on the 2nd of December.

During past years, Ayla has organized such sports competitions as part of its social responsibility strategy, which aims to support the sports and youth sectors while shedding light on Jordan as a center for sports competitions and local, regional, and international championships.

This year's race, which is organized by the Jordanian Marathon Association and Ayla, is divided into three categories: a children's race, a 10 km track, and a 21 km/half marathon track.

Ayla’s Managing Director , Eng. Sahl Dudin, stressed Ayla’s keenness to turn this annual race into a sporting tradition, believing in the importance of supporting sports and athletes, and spreading a healthy culture by providing support for organizing the race, providing prizes to competitors and encouraging community participation, in addition to Shedding light on the capabilities and qualified infrastructure enjoyed by the Kingdom in general and Ayla Oasis Company in particular in hosting this type of sports in which hundreds of people from inside and outside Jordan participate.

Dudin also noted that Ayla seeks to make both Jordan and the Aqaba Special Economic Zone a sports and tourism destination that possess the logistical and organizational capabilities to host world-class sports.

On her part, Jordanian Marathon Association General Manager Ms. Lina El-Kurd expressed pride in their strategic partnership with Ayla, which continues to make the largest sporting event in Aqaba a success. Participants can enjoy the stunning scenery while jogging which gives a unique experience to the runners.

This sporting event is an implementation of the charity's approach to marathons, which aims to raise community awareness of the importance of sport and the necessity of adopting a better healthy lifestyle.

It is worth noting that Ayla Oasis Development Company is considered to be a major platform for quality sports activities at the national level, and annually launches a packed calendar of sporting events to enhance the march of local sporting activity in the city of Aqaba.
