Budget figures released by the Ministry of Finance revealed that taxes on international trade and transactions decreased from last year by 53 million dinars, compared to the same period last year, as tax revenues on international trade and transactions for 2021 amounted to about 186 million dinars, while it reached 133 million dinars in 2022.

Economic analyst Husam Aish, commenting on these figures, explained that the decrease in taxes on international trade and transactions worth 53 million dinars, or 16%, that is, what was achieved from the international trade and sales tax for 2022 is about 287 million dinars out of about 355 million dinars estimated by the government this year.
He pointed out in private statements to "Al -Anbat" that the total taxes for the current year expected as tax and non-tax revenues amounted to 8.1 billion dinars, of which 6.1 billion dinars are tax revenues, income tax about 1.3 billion dinars, sales tax 4.3 billion dinars, including international trade taxes 355 million dinars, in addition to real estate taxes.

Husam Aish said that the decrease in these taxes is due to many reasons, most notably; restructuring tax duties in addition to reducing the prices of some imported goods after the economic recovery, and also agreements to prevent double taxation between countries with regard to trade between them may have affected the decline of these taxes, pointing out that the assessment of such taxes based on import sources and agreements limits and reduces tax duties on them.
He added that the government did not explain the reason for this apparent decline to be built on, explaining that the government stated last year that it had achieved the expected tax revenues in the budget, noting that international bodies "IMF" praised the government's efforts in preventing avoidance and tax evasion, which contributed to improved tax revenues.

Wajdi Al-Mukhamera  the economic analyst said that the decline is due to several reasons, most notably; that there are problems with supply chains and high freight rates, which contributed to the rise in the number of traders who eased their trade transactions globally in light of the high costs, so these taxes have decreased significantly.
In special statements to Al -Anbat, he added that the global price rise and the decline in some of the sector as well as the withdrawal of some suppliers importing goods to Jordan contributed to the decline in e-commerce in total.

We have to mention the total general revenues of the budget during the first seven months of 2022 amounted to 4.882 billion dinars compared to 4.917 billion dinars during the same period of the previous year, a decrease of 35 million dinars or 0.7%.
