The Manager of Irbid Health Directorate, Dr. Riyadh Al-Shayyab, denied the lack of beds in Princess Basma Teaching Hospital, stressing that 45 empty beds were available in the hospital. During a tour of the hospital, in the presence of its director, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Shahabat, Al-Shehab explained that the image circulated on social media sites of a patient carrying a bag of nutrients in front of the hospital building, on the pretext that there was no family, was baseless and unrelated to reality. Al-Sheyyab told the Jordan News Agency, "Petra", which attended the tour in the various departments of the hospital that the occupancy rate for the hospital's family is 69 percent, and that it can accommodate more than 40 admissions if the need arises.
He called on information and news users on social networking sites to be accurate and scrutinize the media content of such materials that are not based on responsible sources or stakeholders, stressing that accurate information is available in full transparency and responsibility, and anyone can obtain it from its sources.
Al-Sheyyab confirmed that the health system in Princess Basma Teaching Hospital and other hospitals in the governorate, including the field hospital designated for Corona patients, operates with high efficiency and does not complain of any shortcomings or needs that affect the level of health service provision to all patients.
