BEIRUT - The Israeli military has urged residents of roughly 50 towns and villages in southern Lebanon to evacuate their homes, citing imminent strikes against Hezbollah targets following rocket fire into Israel.
An Israeli military spokesperson stated on X, formerly Twitter, "For your safety, you must evacuate your homes immediately and distance yourselves from the villages to a distance of at least 1,000 meters into open areas. Anyone near Hezbollah elements, facilities, and weapons is endangering their lives."
The Israeli military announced it conducted a wave of strikes against Hezbollah targets "throughout Lebanon" following the rocket launches claimed by the group.
According to a military statement, the Israeli forces began "striking Hezbollah targets throughout Lebanon" in response to Hezbollah's firing of projectiles towards Israel.
