Kuwait's air defense systems intercepted several hostile aerial targets, including drones, near the coastal areas of Rumaitiya and Salwa, according to the Director-General of the General Administration of Civil Defense at the Ministry of Interior, Mohammed Al-Mansouri. The interceptions occurred amid heightened regional tensions following reported Iranian strikes on Gulf states in response to alleged U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran.
Al-Mansouri emphasized that the Kuwaiti Air Force efficiently engaged the incoming aerial threats, ensuring the situation in Kuwait remains stable. He reassured the public that there is no cause for alarm, as relevant authorities are continuously monitoring developments.
The General Administration of Civil Defense received multiple reports of explosions heard in various areas, which Al-Mansouri clarified were the result of the successful interceptions in the airspace.
Kuwait's air force is maintaining constant surveillance to detect and track aerial targets before they enter Kuwaiti airspace.
State news agency KUNA reported one death and 32 injuries on Sunday resulting from Iranian attacks. The Ministry of Health stated that the casualties, all of foreign nationalities, were treated at Al-Adan Hospital's emergency department.
