DOHA – Qatar has asserted that Iran must be held accountable for its recent attacks targeting civilian infrastructure, a spokesperson for the Qatari Foreign Ministry said.
The spokesperson, in a statement to CNN, emphasized the severity of the situation, stating that the attacks, though intercepted, cannot go unanswered.
Qatari fighter jets were involved in intercepting drones and other projectiles during the attacks, the spokesperson added.
While the spokesperson confirmed that Doha is not currently in communication with the Iranian government, they expressed optimism that the crisis would eventually be resolved through dialogue.
Qatari land and sea-based energy facilities are protected, the spokesperson said.
