ZARQA, Jordan - The Zarqa Chamber of Commerce announced that the value of commercial exports (re-exports) from Zarqa reached 32,599,289 Jordanian dinars (approximately $46 million) last February, according to origin certificate statistics issued by the chamber and its Free Zone office.
Hussein Shreim, head of the Zarqa Chamber of Commerce, stated that a total of 270 certificates were issued during the period.
According to Shreim, automobiles and related parts accounted for the largest share of Zarqa's commercial exports last month.
Other significant export categories included building materials, sanitary ware, pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, foodstuffs, clothing, jewelry, electrical and electronic appliances, and home and office furniture, in addition to stationery.
Shreim noted a slight decrease in the volume of Zarqa's commercial exports in February compared to January, which recorded approximately 34 million dinars.
