Syria: SDF Brigades to Integrate into Syrian Army's 60th Division

Syria SDF Brigades to Integrate into Syrian Armys 60th Division
الأنباط -

Three brigades from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) will be integrated into the Syrian Army's 60th Division, according to a recent agreement. This move aims to consolidate military and security institutions in the region.

The integration process follows an agreement reached on January 29, according to Brigadier General Ziad al-Ayesh, a presidential envoy. Al-Ayesh discussed the implementation steps with SDF commander Mazloum Abdi, Hasakah Governor Nour Eddin Ahmed, and other military and security leaders.

Al-Ayesh stated that the three SDF brigades would be incorporated into the 60th Division under the command of Brigadier General Awad al-Jassem, who led the operation to control the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh districts in Aleppo earlier this year.

In addition to the military integration, efforts are underway to address the issue of detainees. Al-Ayesh announced that the release of 60 prisoners, against whom no charges or involvement in criminal activities have been proven, would begin imminently. Lists of detainees who previously participated in revolutionary activities will also be reviewed to assess their situations and facilitate their release.

Access routes to the city of Hasakah will be opened from five directions, with the exception of the international M4 highway, until its security is fully guaranteed.

Furthermore, specialized committees are being formed to ensure the safe return of displaced persons to their areas. A technical and engineering team will also be established to take over the Rmeilan and Suwaidiyah oil fields.

Presidential envoy Brigadier General Al-Ayesh was tasked with implementing the January 29 agreement with the SDF, achieving integration, strengthening the state's presence, removing obstacles, and activating government services for citizens.

The Syrian government announced the agreement with the SDF on January 29, which included a ceasefire as part of a comprehensive agreement. The agreement also includes a sequential integration of military and administrative forces between the two sides, the entry of security forces into the centers of the cities of Hasakah and Qamishli, and the state's receipt of all civil and governmental institutions, crossings, and outlets.

Al-Ayesh also announced the formation of specialized committees to ensure the safe return of displaced persons to their areas and the establishment of a technical and engineering team to take over the Rmeilan and Suwaidiyah oil fields.

A government delegation, accompanied by Abbas Hussein, Director of Political Affairs in Hasakah Governorate, Ahmed Al-Hilali, spokesman for the presidential delegation, and technical and engineering teams from the Syrian Petroleum Company (SPC), arrived at the Hasakah Fields Directorate. The delegation began a meeting to follow up on the necessary administrative and technical procedures in the oil fields and complete the implementation of the agreement, ensuring the assessment of the readiness of the fields and the integration of their administrative structure.
