Jordan will enforce the law against anyone who undermines national security or stability, a government spokesperson has said.
Minister of Government Communication, Mohammad al-Momani, stressed the importance of maintaining a cohesive internal front, calling on the public to verify information and obtain it from official sources.
Al-Momani affirmed Jordan's ability, under its leadership, army, and institutions, to overcome challenges and crises, as it always has.
He also noted that relevant authorities are monitoring accounts that publish false or offensive information, and legal measures will be taken against those who harm the nation or its security.
Al-Momani highlighted the importance of not being misled by rumors or misinformation.
Since the beginning of regional developments, a comprehensive media plan has been implemented to address events and provide citizens with timely and transparent information, in coordination with the Jordanian Armed Forces, the Public Security Directorate, and other relevant authorities, according to the minister.
Al-Momani also commemorated the anniversary of the Arabization of the army leadership, a decision made by the late King Hussein bin Talal in 1956. He said this decision marked a pivotal moment in the history of the modern Jordanian state.
Al-Momani praised the Jordanian Armed Forces as a model of sacrifice, discipline, and professionalism, emphasizing their role in protecting the nation's sovereignty and security, especially in light of current regional circumstances.
Separately, Al-Momani noted the anniversary of Jordanian Radio, stating that it has been a cornerstone of national discourse for decades and has played a leading role in raising public awareness and defending national issues.
He added that recalling the history of the radio reflects the magnitude of the national, political, and media role it has played, praising its continued professional approach in serving the nation and its leadership.
