Jordan's Ministry of Labor oversaw the signing of a collective labor agreement on Tuesday between the General Syndicate of Workers in Health Services and Medical Professions and a pharmaceutical company, aiming to improve employment benefits for 160 workers.

The agreement underscores the ministry's commitment to monitoring the affairs of workers in the private sector and fostering communication between stakeholders in the production process, according to Ministry Secretary-General Abdul Halim Dougan.

Khaled Fanatseh, head of the General Federation of Jordanian Trade Unions, company General Manager Rami al-Sabarini, syndicate head Mohammad Ghanem, and Director of the Ministry's Labor Relations Directorate Adnan al-Dahamsha were present.

Dougan emphasized that the ministry is focused on resolving labor disputes and enhancing job stability within private sector institutions. This is achieved by fostering positive working relationships between the government, employers, and workers, ensuring a conducive work environment, and overseeing collective labor agreements that benefit all parties.

The ministry encourages direct negotiations and cooperation between employers and trade unions, which positively impacts the work environment, job security, and overall economic and social well-being, Dougan added. This, in turn, strengthens workers' confidence in their institutions and management, driving increased productivity and achievement.

Fanatseh noted the federation's commitment to promoting social dialogue between workers and their representatives, as well as employers, to foster positive relationships between all parties involved in the production process. He also acknowledged the ministry's role in supervising and closely monitoring these dialogues to enhance productivity and improve workers' benefits and work environment.

Ghanem stated that improving workers' benefits and work environment significantly contributes to increased productivity, which positively impacts the company. He commended the company's management for their cooperation and responsiveness to the syndicate's demands, as well as the Ministry of Labor for overseeing the dialogue between the two parties.

Al-Sabarini affirmed that the signing of the collective agreement was the result of collaboration between the syndicate and the company's management, with the support of the Ministry of Labor. He highlighted the positive impact of the agreement on the company's employees through improved employment benefits, emphasizing the company's appreciation for its workers and their essential role in the production process.
