Jordan participates in the Asian Games "Hangzhou" with 16 sports

The
Jordanian Olympic Committee announced the delegation to participate in the
nineteenth edition of the Asian Games, which will be hosted by the Chinese city
of Hangzhou, during the coming period from September 23 to October 8.
Her Highness Princess
Sarah bint Faisal heads the Jordanian delegation in the (Hangzhou 2022)
tournament, and it consists of 89 male and female players representing 16
sports.
The list of participating
sports includes: swimming, bow and arrow, athletics, badminton, basketball,
boxing, fencing, golf, gymnastics, jujitsu, karate, electronic games, shooting,
taekwondo, triathlon, and weightlifting.
For her part, the
Secretary-General of the Jordanian Olympic Committee, Rana Nazmi Al-Saeed,
praised the efforts made by our national teams participating in the Asian Games
with intensive preparations and serious endeavors to represent Jordan in the
best possible way and achieve advanced results that reflect the development of
Jordanian sports.
Al-Saeed said that
the tournament - which has been postponed for a year - is receiving great
interest from the Jordanian Olympic Committee. It is one of the largest sports
tournaments, in terms of the number of participants and the strength of
competition, in addition to being a gateway to qualifying for the Paris
Olympics next year in a number of sports.
Al-Saeed added that
the tournament is one of the strongest and most important sports tournaments.
This doubles the responsibility on the national teams in order to show the
performance that befits them, stressing the committee's aspiration to achieve
achievement and excellence.
It is noteworthy that
Jordan began its participation in the Asian Games since the Seoul edition in
1986, and since that edition, Jordan has participated in 8 editions, and
managed to achieve 45 medals, including 5 gold medals, 16 silver medals, and 24
bronze medals.
