Tourism income increased during the first quarter of 2023 by
88.4% compared to the corresponding period of 2022, recording a value of
$1,671.1 million.
An increase in spending on tourism outside the
Kingdom by 68.4% during the first quarter of 2023, to reach $422.3 million.
The latest data issued by the Central Bank indicates that
tourism income achieved a growth of 49.0% during the month of March of 2023,
compared to the same month of 2022, to reach 435.8 million dinars ($614.7
million).
During the first quarter of 2023, tourism income increased
by 88.4% to record 1,184.8 million dinars ($1,671.1 million dollar), driven by
the increase in the number of tourists, which reached 1,476.5 thousand
tourists, with a growth rate of 90.7%, as a result of the increase in the
number of overnight tourists. It reached
1,204.4 thousand tourists, with a growth rate of 80.9%, while the number of
one-day tourists reached 272.1 thousand, with a growth rate of 151.2%.
At the same time, the data indicates an increase in tourism
spending abroad during the month of March of 2023 by (26.2%), compared to the
same month of 2022, to reach 99.2 million dinars ($139.9 million).
As for during the
first quarter of 2023, tourism spending abroad increased by 68.4%, to record a
value of 299.4 million dinars (422.3 million dollars). The expenditure of Jordanian residents
accounted for 83.5% of the total tourism expenditure abroad.
