Algosaibi: The GCC Summit's praise of the efforts of the "Masam" project motivates us to continue our humanitarian mission.

Riyadh - 6 December 2023
Mr. Ousama bin Yousef Algosaibi, Managing Director of the "Masam" Landmine project in Yemen, extended his deepest thanks and gratitude to Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Algosaibi said in a press statement on the occasion of the conclusion of the GCC summit held in the Qatari capital (Doha) two days ago, that the final statement issued by the summit praising the efforts of the "Masam" project in Yemeni territory indicated the concern of the leaders of the GCC countries for the Yemeni people, and their keenness on achieving security and stability in Yemen. Algosaibi considered the statement a motivation for the Masam project and all its workers to continue their humanitarian message represented in ridding the Yemeni people of the danger of mines planted by the Houthi militia in flagrant violation of the rules of international humanitarian law.
The final communiqué issued by the Supreme Council of the GCC at its 44th session referred to the efforts made by the GCC States in the Yemeni file at all levels. It also included the Council's praise for the efforts made by the Masam project, as it touched on the work carried out by the project. The communiqué pointed out that the project succeeded in removing more than (420.823) mines, UXOs, and IEDs, and clearing (51,082,121) square meters of land in Yemen, which were laid with mines and UXOs planted indiscriminately by the Houthi militias which claimed the lives of innocent children, women and the elderly.
