Petra: Tourism is expected to increase with the approach of the holidays

Chairman of the Board
of Commissioners of the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority, Dr.
Suleiman Al-Farajat, said that the numbers of tourists during the holy month of
Ramadan and so far are within their normal rates.
And Al-Farajat, in his
interview with "Hala News”, on Tuesday evening, indicated that the first third
of Ramadan coincided with the end of last March, which set a record for the
first time in terms of entering the archaeological site with 143,962 visitors,
of whom 131,116 were foreigners, or 91%.
The second of the holy
month coincided with the first third of the current month of April, indicating
that the number of tourists was normal for this time of the year in which
tourism is active in the Pink City.
Christian holidays and
thus increase the turnout of Europeans, especially since the current month is
the peak of the tourism season to Petra. He mentioned the measures taken by the
authority to strengthen the management of the archaeological site, which reflects
positively on the experience of tourists and the services provided to them and
the local community.
He talked about
improving management and services, launching the transportation system and
operating the heritage village and the constant endeavor to increase
investment.
