Kanakreh: move ahead with the maintenance procedures of the Zay Tourist Resting Place to be put forward for investment

To move forward with
the investment of the Zay Tourist Resting Place, the Head of the Social
Security Funds Investment Fund Dr. Ezzedine Kanakreh, instructed the concerned
parties to take the necessary measures to expedite the bidding for the
maintenance of the Zee Tourist Resting Place for its rehabilitation and to
present it as an investment opportunity for Jordanian investors.
This came during the
field visit accompanied by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the
National Tourism Development Company Dr. Ma’id Al-Saman, Deputy Dina Al-Bashir,
the Chairman of Al-Balqa Governorate Council Ibrahim Al-Awamla, the Mayor of
Zee Al-Amairah and the Director of Zee District Eng. Fatima Arabiat, several
directors of the Fund, the General Manager of the National Company, and many
directors and engineering staff of the company.
The Head of the Fund
heard an explanation about the nature of the construction works to be carried
out before bidding to attract investors to manage the resting place on
commercial grounds while exploiting the resting place site as one of the
distinctive tourist fronts in Al-Balqa governorate.
The Head of the Fund
stressed the importance of speeding up the restart of the resting place of its
importance in revitalizing the tourism movement in the region, operating the
economic sectors associated with the tourism sector, improving the level of
various services, and promoting domestic and foreign tourism.
The "Zay” resting
place is located in a prime location on 7 Dunums and includes multiple tourist
facilities from restaurants, event halls, and outdoor plazas. However, the
investment return provided was not acceptable, preventing the break from being
invested.
The National Tourism
Development Company oversees the management of hotels owned by social security
and several resting places in the Kingdom’s most prominent tourist destinations
and the company achieved the highest net profit in 2022 compared to the
previous year after the gradual recovery from the coronavirus pandemic.
The tourism sector is
an important investment in the investment portfolio of the Social Security
Funds Investment Fund as well as investment in other sectors, such as banks,
mining, telecommunications, energy, agriculture, real estate development, and
development areas in addition to investment in bonds and fixed-income
instruments.
