The
supervisory teams of the Director of Industry and Commerce of Karak have
intensified their campaigns on shops and commercial markets, since the
beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, to ensure that merchants adhere to the
price ceilings set by the concerned authorities.
Director of
Karak Industry and Trade Muhammad Al-Saoub told (Petra) on Monday, that the
supervisory teams work in two shifts, morning and evening, and within a
specific program to follow up on complaints and observations of citizens, and
monitor the adherence of shops to price ceilings and announce them clearly on
goods offered.
He pointed
out that the supervisory teams were strengthened by about 10 employees on the
incentive system in order to cover the control process in the various districts
and regions of the governorate, explaining that many violations were issued
against merchants for not adhering to price ceilings, especially poultry shops,
stressing the availability of all foodstuffs in the markets.
He explained that the commercial offers and
the competition process in the major malls in the governorate led to a decrease
in the prices of some commodities, calling on citizens to cooperate with the
regulatory authorities by reporting any observation, whether with prices or
monopoly, and the extent to which they conform to the conditions of public
health and safety.
