Chest and respiratory diseases specialist Dr. Muhammad Hassan Al-Tarawneh said that it is too early to say for sure that the world is witnessing a new wave of Corona.
Al-Tarawneh added in televised statements to Roya TV on Saturday, that the increase in HIV infections is confined only to the People's Republic of China, indicating that the information received from it until this moment is neither accurate nor transparent.
And he considered that the epidemiological situation in the Arab region, as in other countries around the world, has been stable until now and that there have been no sudden increases in the number of injuries and hospitalizations.
Al-Tarawneh called for waiting for the official information issued by the World Health Organization or the centers authorized to issue data, except for China, since the information received from the latter is highly inconsistent and not accurate or credible.
Al-Tarawneh explained, by following the Corona pandemic in the past three years, that there are factors that control the flow of information and data, including political, economic, and others, that affect judgment or interpretation about a mutated transmission from China to other countries, describing information whose source is one on which there is a media blackout and is not credible.
And about the recent spread of a new mutant from Corona in China, Tarawneh said that it is a sub-Omicron, and it spreads more quickly.
than it and has more susceptibility to infection of the lower respiratory tract.
He added that the new variant in China causes more pneumonia than the previous variants and therefore leads to higher hospital admissions due to a lack of oxygen.
Regarding the respiratory syncytial virus, Tarawneh denied what is being circulated that the virus is one of the mutants of Corona, saying that it is very wrong information, stressing that the syncytial virus is one of the respiratory viruses that infect the respiratory system and usually infects children under two years of age, and stressing that it has nothing to do with the Corona virus.
Al-Tarawneh indicated that there is no information on the genetic sequence of the effectiveness of vaccinations for the mutated strains circulating at the present time, believing that people who have received the second dose of the Corona vaccine are considered sufficient until now, except for the most vulnerable groups such as the elderly and those with chronic diseases.
