The Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Al-Khalayleh, said that the launch of the Mustafa Endowment to complete the Holy Qur’an in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque by His Majesty King Abdullah II aims to revive the Sunnah of the endowment and restore the role of the Islamic endowment, which used to play a major role in all aspects of life.

And he added, during an interview on Jordanian television, on Sunday evening, "The endowment comes in light of the fierce attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque, the incursions of extremist Jews, and the dangers of preserving it, and for the mosque to remain full of the recitation of the Qur’an and the remembrance of God Almighty.”

Al-Khalayleh continued, "The architecture of mosques is a sign of faith, and it is of two types: material in terms of construction, maintenance, and restoration, and it was carried out by the Hashemites through their continuous care, and there is a moral architecture, which is that mosques remain filled with Quran recitation and lessons of science and interpretation."

He pointed out that "if generations are linked to Al-Aqsa Mosque, it will realize the importance of the endowment and its many advantages."

Al-Khalayleh noted, "There were 30 scientific schools in Al-Aqsa Mosque, meaning a university in our time," adding, "Today, the endowment is returning to the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque the lessons of knowledge, especially the Quran."

"A sum of money will be allocated to the endowment, and the door for donations to this endowment is open, as the endowed amount will continue to be invested and its proceeds will be spent on readers,” according to the statement of the Minister of Endowments.

He added, "We aspire that the book of God Almighty be sealed at least once every day in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, by a thousand readers from the people of Jerusalem, and for everyone who visits Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
