Million and 565 thousand JD to support parties in 2023 and 56 registered parties

In the 2023 budget the government allocated amounts to support parties, and the values reached about one Million and 566 thousand JD, the number of political parties until this moment according to the data of Directorate of Party Registry of the Independent Electoral Commission, 56 parties.

These funds were included in the budget of the Independent Electoral Commission after the constitutional amendments approved by the National Assembly in 2021, which included the authority to supervise the establishment of political parties and follow up their affairs in the Commission after transferring these powers from the Ministry of Political Development.
