Al-Rawashdeh: We cannot intervene without a request, and we are ready to help.

Those interested in sports affairs wondered why the Independent Election Commission did not adopt the management of the electoral process for football clubs instead of the Ministry of Youth, as it is specialized in this field and has experience managing electoral processes since its establishment in 2012.

In turn, the media spokesman for the Independent Election Commission, Muhammad Khair Rawashdeh, explained that if the commission was not asked to conduct elections from the authorized authority and through the government, it could not intervene but could provide advisory services.

He stated that if the clubs wanted logistical assistance, the authority does not mind providing everything it has to facilitate the electoral processes without assuming its responsibility.
He indicated that there are some laws and regulations in force for unions or clubs, in which there may be a specific text that the elections are run by private parties, and this requires amendments to the laws, so we do not impose ourselves if we are not asked to do so.

Rawashdeh went on to say that the Jordanian constitution stated in Article 67, Clause 2, that "an independent commission shall be established by law to be entrusted with the following: a- Managing parliamentary and municipal elections and any general elections in accordance with the provisions of the law, and the Council of Ministers assigning the independent commission to administer or supervise any other elections upon request from the body authorized by law to administer or supervise elections."
