Al Anbat- Deema Al Khateeb
The Director General of the Amman Chamber of Commerce, Hisham Al-Dweik,
announced that the Independent Electoral Commission had adopted a list of 18018
members of the General Chamber of Commerce who were entitled to vote in the
elections to the Chamber's Board of Directors for the next session of the
Council for the years (2022-2026) and to elect representatives of the
registered business sectors.
He stressed that these establishments registered with the Chamber and
renovated for membership in the Chamber for the year 2022 must initiate
obtaining a valid occupational license for the facility for the year 2022
(those who have not yet obtained a professional license for his
establishments), so the person authorized on behalf of a commercial or service
establishment may exercise the right to vote in the next election.
Al-Dweik stated that obtaining a valid occupational license for this
year (2022), is a key condition for enabling the authorized person on behalf of
the enterprise to exercise the right to vote and he will not be able to cast
his vote on behalf of the facility registered with the Chamber unless the
facility on whose behalf proposed holds a valid occupation license for this
year 2022 from the Greater Amman Secretariat or a municipality within the
borders of the Capital Governorate.
He called on the enterprises that had not yet done so to obtain a
professional license for their enterprises to do so (if they wished), so that
they could exercise the right to vote and choose who they deemed appropriate to
represent them on the new Chamber's Board of Directors through the forthcoming
elections, knowing that the schedules of businesses and services eligible to
vote in the forthcoming elections of the members of the General Authority of
the Chamber and repairs of their annual contribution for this year 2022 are
posted on the website of the Independent Authority for Election www.jec.jo.
