ASEZA's Aqaba labs to test wheat shipments entering Jordan: JSMO

Alanbatnews - The Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO) decided to expand the accreditation of the Aqaba International Laboratories "Ibn Hayyan", affiliated to the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), to include testing wheat shipments entering the Kingdom through Aqaba ports.

ASEZA Vice Chairman and Investment Commissioner, Emad Hijazeen, said this new achievement is an added value to the laboratories and an expansion of its scope to serve the investment process and importers across Aqaba.

It also aims at saving time and effort and receiving tests' final results according to highly accurate international standards as well as avoiding delays of any shipment passing through Aqaba either to the local market or to some countries in the region, Hijazeen added in a statement.

Hijazeen explained that the chemical analysis and microbiology laboratories are equipped with the most advanced analytical equipment and the best available local expertise, which enables them to conduct tests in several areas, in accordance with the best international standards.
