Qatari authorities have urged residents to remain indoors unless absolutely necessary, as regional tensions escalate following missile and drone attacks on Gulf states.

The Qatari Ministry of Interior issued the advisory, emphasizing the importance of adhering to official instructions to protect lives and property.

The call for caution follows Iranian ballistic missile and drone strikes targeting airports in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman. These attacks were reportedly in response to strikes by the United States and Israel against Iran, which began on Saturday.

The attacks on airports resulted in one fatality and over 20 injuries, along with limited material damage. Airspace closures and flight suspensions remain in effect as a precautionary measure.

In Qatar, the Civil Defence is responding to a limited fire in the industrial area caused by debris from an intercepted missile, the Ministry of Interior reported. No injuries have been reported.

Qatar's Civil Aviation Authority announced a temporary suspension of air traffic in the country as part of precautionary measures taken in response to regional developments. The authority affirmed its commitment to monitoring the situation and coordinating with relevant authorities, with updates to be announced as they become available.

The Ministry of Interior reiterated that compliance with safety guidelines is crucial for safeguarding the public and maintaining security.
