The Israeli military is reportedly mobilizing approximately 100,000 reserve soldiers as part of ongoing operations, according to a statement. This move comes amid escalating tensions in the region.
The Israeli military stated it is preparing to "absorb approximately 100,000 reserve soldiers who have been called up to intensify preparations in all sectors as part of Operation Roaring Lion."
The announcement follows reported strikes targeting multiple locations within Iran. Dozens of Israeli Air Force fighter jets reportedly conducted strikes targeting command centers linked to the Iranian regime.
Targets included the headquarters of Iran's internal security forces, which, according to Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, served as a central command and control hub. Also reportedly hit was the "Tharallah" headquarters, responsible for defending Tehran against military threats.
The Israeli military claims that the destruction of these headquarters will impede the Iranian government's ability to maintain stability.
These developments follow reported joint Israeli and U.S. strikes in Iran. These strikes resulted in the deaths of several high-ranking Iranian officials, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, advisor Ali Shamkhani, Defense Minister Amir Naserzadeh, Revolutionary Guard commander Mohammad Pakpour, and former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Reports indicate at least 201 people were killed and over 700 injured.
