Iran's Revolutionary Guard claimed responsibility on Monday for launching missile strikes targeting what they described as Israeli government and military installations in Tel Aviv and Haifa, as well as an attack in Jerusalem.

The announcement follows reports of explosions and air raid sirens in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv early Monday, according to Agence France-Presse.

The Israeli military stated that it detected missiles launched from Iran toward Israeli territory, activating air defenses to intercept them and urging residents to seek shelter.

According to the Revolutionary Guard, the attacks, which occurred around 5:00 AM GMT, involved the use of "Khaibar" ballistic missiles. The Guard claimed the targets included the Israeli government headquarters in Tel Aviv and security and military centers in Haifa.

Sirens sounded again in Jerusalem around 5:40 AM GMT, after the military announced it had detected new missiles launched from Iran.

Casualties were reported yesterday in central Israel when a building collapsed on a shelter following a direct hit by an Iranian rocket, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries.
