Jordan Condemns Iranian Attacks, Seeks De-escalation Amid Regional Tensions

Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi has condemned Iranian attacks targeting Jordan and other Arab nations, emphasizing the need for de-escalation and diplomatic solutions to resolve regional crises.

Safadi conveyed Jordan's condemnation during phone calls with 17 of his counterparts, stressing that the kingdom is taking all necessary measures to protect its citizens, security, and sovereignty against these unwarranted attacks.

Jordan views the Iranian actions as a dangerous and unjustified assault on its security and a violation of its sovereignty, particularly given Jordan's efforts to resolve the crisis peacefully and prevent its territory from being used for attacks against Iran, according to Safadi.

The Jordanian Foreign Minister also reiterated Jordan's strong condemnation of Iranian attacks on the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait, affirming the kingdom's solidarity with these nations and its support for any measures they undertake to protect their security, stability, sovereignty, and the safety of their citizens.

Safadi highlighted Jordan's ongoing coordination with allies to end regional tensions, reduce escalation, and promote security and stability in the region. He emphasized the importance of restraint, diplomatic solutions, and dialogue to overcome crises, as well as respect for international law and the sovereignty of states to maintain regional security and stability.

The foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt, Indonesia, Germany, Spain, Britain, Belgium, Sweden, France, Latvia, Norway, and Austria expressed their solidarity with Jordan and their support for all measures taken by the kingdom to protect its citizens, security, and sovereignty during these discussions.
