Jordan Relaunches Tender for Amman-Zarqa BRT Fare Collection System

AMMAN - Jordan's Ministry of Investment has announced the relaunch of the pre-qualification tender for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) fare collection system project, covering the Amman Greater Municipality area and connecting the cities of Amman and Zarqa.

The ministry, in an official statement, said the tender is being managed through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Projects Unit. It invites experienced companies and consortia specializing in supplying and operating intelligent transport and fare collection systems to participate in the project's pre-qualification process.

The Ministry of Investment aims to select a private sector operator to contract with the Amman Greater Municipality. The project will be executed through a transparent and competitive bidding process, adhering to the Public-Private Partnership Projects Law No. (19) of 2023 and in accordance with international best practices.

The bidding process will occur in two phases. The initial pre-qualification stage involves evaluating applicants based on pre-defined criteria. Only qualified entities will proceed to the final stage and receive the Request for Proposal (RFP) document.

Entities interested in obtaining the pre-qualification documents can send an email with the subject line "BRT Fare Collector RFQ Documents" to FCBRT.technical@moin.gov.jo. The email should clearly identify the applicant.

Pre-qualification applications must be submitted in person to the Public-Private Partnership Projects Unit at the Ministry of Investment, in addition to electronic submission. Detailed instructions on the submission process will be provided in the pre-qualification documents.

The deadline for submitting pre-qualification applications is Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 12:00 PM Jordan local time.
