Oman has called on Iran to exercise restraint and avoid any actions that could undermine good neighborly relations, amid heightened regional tensions.

The Omani Foreign Minister conveyed this message during a phone call with his Iranian counterpart, where he also expressed Oman's appreciation for Iran's constructive role and ongoing diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the current crisis and return to dialogue and negotiation.

According to reports, the Iranian minister communicated his country's desire for peace, stating that the Israeli-American attack on Iran had exacerbated tensions in the region. He affirmed Iran's openness to any serious efforts aimed at halting escalation and restoring stability.

The Omani Foreign Minister reiterated Oman's continued call for a ceasefire and a return to dialogue and negotiation to resolve the conflict diplomatically, in a way that achieves the legitimate demands of all parties. He urged Iran to exercise restraint and avoid any actions that could undermine good neighborly relations.

Separately, a Palau-flagged oil tanker was reportedly targeted approximately 5 nautical miles off the coast of Musandam Governorate, according to the Oman Maritime Security Center. The crew of 20 was evacuated, and initial reports indicated that four people were injured, according to Reuters.

Earlier, the Duqm commercial port in Oman was reportedly attacked by two drones, resulting in injuries to one foreign worker. Omani state media reported that the wreckage of another drone fell in an area near fuel tanks, with no casualties or material damage reported.
