Yarmouk University's upcoming 50th anniversary has been recognized by UNESCO, which has included the jubilee in its official calendar of events for 2026 and 2027.
The designation underscores the university's academic and scientific standing both regionally and internationally.
University President Malik Al-Shrairi stated that this inclusion represents international recognition of the university's journey and its role in promoting the values of science and culture, contributing to sustainable development, and enriching the human cultural heritage, according to a university statement released Tuesday.
Al-Shrairi added that the inclusion of the Golden Jubilee in UNESCO's list of events reinforces the importance of continuing the path of development and academic excellence, and moving forward towards further scientific achievement, so that the university remains, as the Hashemites intended, a factory of role models and leaders, and a center for researchers and scientists.
