TEHRAN – Iran asserted its unrestricted right to defend itself, rejecting warnings from U.S. President Donald Trump against retaliation for perceived U.S. and Israeli aggression.
Abbas Araqchi, Iran's Foreign Minister, emphasized the nation's resolve, stating in an interview with ABC News, "No one can deny us the right to defend ourselves. We defend ourselves at any cost. We see no limits to defending our people, to protecting our people."
Araqchi sharply criticized U.S. actions, characterizing them as "an act of aggression," while framing Iran's response as purely defensive. "What the United States does is an act of aggression. What we do is self-defense. There is a vast difference between the two," he stated.
