Former U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that the new Iranian leadership is interested in engaging in negotiations and that he has agreed to speak with them.
In an interview with The Atlantic, Trump indicated a willingness to hold discussions with Iranian officials, suggesting that such talks should have occurred sooner to facilitate practical and straightforward solutions.
When questioned about the timing of these potential conversations, Trump declined to provide specifics. He noted that some Iranian officials involved in past negotiations are no longer alive.
Trump also claimed that a significant number of Iranian officials have been killed and alluded to a joint U.S.-Israeli operation against Tehran, which he described as rapidly progressing.
Earlier, Trump announced the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in strikes on Iran.
These developments follow reported U.S. and Israeli airstrikes targeting Iranian military capabilities, marking a significant escalation in tensions in the Middle East.
