Jordan will not allow its airspace to be violated and will not become a battleground, King Abdullah II said on Tuesday, emphasizing that the kingdom's security and the safety of its citizens are paramount.
During a meeting with members of the Jordan Press Association, King Abdullah stressed the importance of dialogue and political solutions to prevent further escalation in the region.
Regarding the Palestinian issue, the King affirmed the continuation of efforts with allies and international partners to protect Palestinian rights and halt Israeli measures aimed at changing the status quo in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
King Abdullah also noted the necessity of supporting Syria's efforts to maintain its security, stability, and territorial integrity.
The King highlighted the importance of the Jordan Press Association's role in promoting media professionalism and the necessity for national interest to guide political and media discourse, especially in light of rapid developments in the region and the world.
He spoke about the importance of moving forward with the implementation of major projects, attracting more investments, and improving services to contribute to improving citizens' lives and raising economic growth rates.
King Abdullah pointed out that Jordan is working to leverage its distinguished relationships with friendly countries to attract investment and economic opportunities and open new markets for Jordanian products, including countries in East Asia.
Members of the Jordan Press Association expressed their appreciation for King Abdullah's efforts in defending Arab causes, especially the Palestinian cause, stressing the importance of Jordan's role in regional issues and its active presence in preserving national interests.
The attendees provided an explanation of the association's procedures and efforts to develop journalistic work, regulate the affairs of the profession, and maintain professional standards.
They emphasized the importance of developing Jordanian media tools to keep pace with technological advancements and pointed to the role of responsible media in spreading the truth, refuting rumors, and promoting the Jordanian narrative.
The meeting was attended by the Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court Yousef Hassan Al-Issawi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi, and the Director of the King's Office, Alaa Al-Batayneh.
